After i updated to 64 bit windows 7, hdmi no longer showed up in the sound-playback device list. i can only see "speakers and dual headphones", "independent dual headphones" and "spdif". i did this with the hdmi cable connected and can see the video on tv but no hdmi device on the list.. In windows 7 operating system choose the playback devices, pick an hdmi device not connected, and go to properties: now change the settings. later, choose the driver tab, update the driver and the high definition audio driver gets detected..
